After week’s of carnage the tide is finally turning for footie punters.
West Ham manager Sam Allardyce may think the linesman ‘dropped a bollock’ by disallowing the Hammers’ last-minute equaliser at Old Trafford.
But a couple of cheeky Cash Out punters had good reason to thank Andrew Garrett and his dodgy flag waving and rather than spending Saturday night drowning their sorrows about the one that got away – the drinks were on them.
Bright Lights, Big City
A phone customer had Garrett to thank as the first 11 legs of his £8.10 12-fold came in. But with the payout resting on Atletic Bilbao v Eibar in La Liga’s 9pm kick off – the canny Cleveland punter decided he’d sooner savour the bright lights of Middlesbrough on a Saturday night and CASHED OUT for 100 times his stake before kick off.
It proved to be a wise move as the Spanish sides played out a bore draw that would have sunk his inspired acca.
Earlier in the day an Irish online customer had Phil Jagielka’s injury-time equaliser for Everton in the Merseyside Derby to thank for keeping his €5 bet alive.
Quick on the draw
His acca wouldn’t have made the 3pm kick-offs if the England international hadn’t popped up with a last-gasp screamer to seal a point for the Toffees and secure one of three draws he predicted on his nine-game punt.
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain’s equaliser for Arsenal agaisnt Spurs in the North London derby meant he was sweating on a fourth draw between the top tier’s lowest scorers West Brom and Burnley in Sunday’s live game.
But with eight results in the bag and the prospect of a Saturday night on the tiles rather than a Sunday afternoon sweating on one result, our man decided to CASH OUT for more than a grand and kick back as West Brom’s doled out a 4-0 thumping to Barnsley for just their second home win since March.
Not a bad way to round off the weekend gents.
With Champions League football this week plenty of punters will be tempted by a mid-week acca. A cheeky cash out could be the stroke of genius you need to turn a losing punt into some tidy profit.
