Mario Balotelli has come in for quite a bit of stick ever since his half-time shirt-swapping with Real Madrid’s Pepe during Liverpool’s 3-0 home loss midweek. Of course Paddy Power jumped on the band-wagon with a our shirt-swapping stung outside Anfield before the Reds drew 0-0 with Hull. A game in which Balotelli didn’t play terribly but he did miss a golden opportunity to snatch all three points at the death.
Well here’s something which might cheer him up a little. An even worse miss from another striker wearing red.
Adelaide United forward Awer Mabil construed to knee the ball over from all of two yards with an open goal gaping in front of him during Saturday’s A-League fixture.
Mabil had already scored a goal which helped Adelaide to a 2-0 win over Perth Glory, he didn’t swap shirts with an opponent at an inadvisable juncture and I don’t believe he owns any self-referencing, question based t-shirts…but still, my gran could have scored this one.
