UFC Fight Night 56 from Uberlândia, Brazil, may not have had the 100% stoppage record of Friday night’s UFC Fight Night 55 but it did have the two fastest KOs of the UFC cards.
First and foremost was Ovince St Preux’s 34 second destruction of former light-heavyweight champ Mauricio ‘Shogun’ Rua in the headliner. OSP takes a big step towards getting a shot at Jon Jones’ title whilst Shogun suffered his fourth loss in his last five fights. The 32-year old Brazilian looks set to drop out of the top ten and some may call on the UFC stalwart to retire.
The fastest UFC finish of the weekend goes to Caio Magalhaes who took just 31 seconds to stop Trevor Smith on the undercard in Brazil. A knee to the jaw did the damage before some Conor McGregor-esque borderline blows to the back and side of the head prompted the referee to stop the fight.
