Going into the weekend Nottingham Forest were on a 10-game win-less streak in all competitions, dating back to September 17. 84 minutes into their game with Norwich, and it looked like the stat-collectors were going to have to make that 11 win-less games thanks to Jonathon Howson’s goal for the Canaries in the first half. A frantic finale however saw Forest pick up three unlikely points, courtesy of goals from Britt Assombalonga and Michail Antonio in the last five minutes.
That win not only secured a crucial three points for Forest, but it helped one lucky punter from Blackpool turn £3 into just short of £4k. Not bad my son.
His five-fold bet on the win-draw-win and both teams to score market included Forest, as well as Chelsea who had beaten Liverpool 2-1 in the early game, Fulham who beat Huddersfield 3-1 and Bolton who also won 3-1, against Wigan. But his luck didn’t stop there. That meant he was waiting on Celtic to beat Aberdeen away from home on Sunday afternoon. The Hoops were deadlocked at 1-1 and down to 10 men heading into stoppage time when Virgil van Dijk popped up with the winner.
Cue returns of £3304.80 and a Paddy Power Acca Bonus of £660.
