Paddy’s Punt: The 12/1 shot who may have slipped under the radar in the Paddy Power Gold Cup

A change of scene could see last year's big-race favourite out run his odds at Cheltenham today

Its day two of the Paddy Power meeting and it looks a cracker. The return of Grand National hero Pineau De Re and a novice chase which could easily prove significant come March are among the highlights.

Cheltenham Open meeting fallers 1024

For a bet we will look to our own Paddy Power Gold Cup where we are offering 5 places.

Easter Meteor went off favourite in this last year when trained by Emma Lavelle and his disappointing performance was followed by a pretty bleak season.

But many of his former trainer’s horses were under a cloud last term and comes here fresh for new trainer David Pipe.

This meeting could easily be referred to as the Pipey Power. Expect his new trainer to have him spot on. The potential he had going in to last season is not easily forgotten a double figure at about 12/1 looks appealing.
