It was a punt as sweet as Andrea Pirlo’s 25-yard strike (below) to win the Turin Derby.
With the game deep into injury time, 10-man Juventus were tied at 1-1 with bitter rivals Torino who were on a high after ending their 12 year scoring drought in the high-octane fixture.
Fans of the The Old Lady were praying for a miracle, as was one Scottish punter who had Juve in his four-team Win-draw-win & both teams to score acca and needed them to take all three points to keep it rolling.
And their prayers were answered when – in the 94th minute – Pirlo let fly to send the Juventus faithful and our kilt-wearing pal into more of a frenzy than Tinder on a Friday night.
Not only did the Italian deliver all three points to the Serie A leaders – he also kept our pal in the game for £1,500 and a 20 per cent bonus on top heading into the Festive season.
He still had to sweat a little on Roma beating Inter Milan but Miralem Pjanic’s 93rd minute strike saw them seal the deal 4-2 against Roberto Mancini’s side to leave our man in clover with Christmas closing in.
Well done, sir. We salute you and your place in the Punting Hall of Fame awaits.
