Ruby Walsh Exclusive: Boston Bob, Un Atout and Totally Dominant are in good shape but it’s Celtic Abbey who can rock the world with an upset

Racing God Ruby Walsh takes you through the action at Punchestown this Sunday.

Punchestown 12:30 Novice Hurdle

I think Celtic Abbey has to produce a career best to win this race but he does travel well and jump well. I think he’ll run better than his odds suggest but it is difficult to see him win, Rock of the World is going to be very hard to beat here.

Punchestown 13:00 Maiden Hurdle

Totally Dominant is a good shout here. He schooled really well at home, his bumper form from the Punchestown Festival is quite strong. If he reproduces that he’ll be hard to beat. I think the ground was too quick for him the last day in Wexford and the easier ground on Sunday should suit him a lot better.

Punchestown 14:00 John Durkan Chase

Ruby Walsh on Boston Bob
This is a good race. Don Cossack is in very good form at the minute, he’s two from two this season and his performance at Down Royal in his last race when he beat Wonderful Charm was rock solid. That said Boston Bob is a proven Grade 1 performer. He won a Grade 1 over 2 ½ at Aintree at the back end of last season then went on to win the Punchestown Gold Cup over 3 miles. He has course form and we think he’s improved a hell of lot from his run at Down Royal and we’re hoping for a big run tomorrow.

Punchestown 14:30 Beginners Chase

Un Atout is coming in off the back of a long lay off after he missed all of last season with a minor injury. He schooled really well at home and seems to be fit and ready for the run. Mala Beach has a run under his belt and was second to The Tullow Tank at Fairyhouse so he could have that race fitness edge. But we think Un Atout is a very decent horse and the possibility was always that he was going to be a better chaser than a hurdler so I’m very much looking forward to having a go on him.

Punchestown 15:30

Livelovelaugh is probably a sharper horse than Turcagua who won the bumper at Navan on Saturday. He’s a horse for the future, he’s in good form and we’re fairly happy with him going in to this race.
