It would be remiss to post anything related to UFC 181 and not to start off with at least mentioning Robbie Lawler beating Johnny Hendricks for the UFC welterweight belt. Ten years ago Lawler was let go by the UFC before going on to lose five of eight fights with Strikeforce. Since being resigned by the Zuffa organisation last year Lawler has looked a different man and he completed his remarkable comeback by beating Hendricks at the second time of asking to lift the title.
Anthony Pettis retained his lightweight crown with a dominant second round win over former Strikeforce champ Gilbert Melendez, handing him the first submission defeat of his illustrious career.
Moving on the the vines below. The first is former TUF contestant Josh Samman making it two-from-two in the octagon with this savage head-kick finish against Eddie Gordon.
The second is Todd Duffee’s 33 second knock-out of Anthony Hamilton. An impressive return to action from the heavyweight who spent the guts of the last two years out injured.
