The Sky cameras head to Belle Vue Wednesday for ECC Timber Oaks Final night and I can’t wait to get the show on the road, although it’s a hell of a long road to Manchester for me!
Let’s see if we can dig out a few winners on the card to make Paddy suffer a miserable night as he cuddles up with Mrs PP in his silk pyjamas.
The ECC Timber Midi at 19.34 looks a guilt-edged opportunity for MISTER MANCINI (trap 2, around 4/1), who stays 590m very strong but also shows blistering early pace so should get a good position on the inside with McGiolla not always the best away.
The Standard at 19.49 may well be a gift for CORLEY ACE (trap 5, 2/1), who isn’t blessed with early pace but who stays very strong. However, Corley Ace may still lead up Lochdara Blaize in Trap 6 and that could pave the way for success.
AIRMOUNT PACO (Trap 2, 11/8) was turned over at short odds at Sunderland last time, but he’s capable of better than that and should lead up Blackhouse Heidi at 20.19. Paco is a class dog and will take a bit of beating.
In the Laurels Final at 8.34pm I’m all over PINPOINT MAXI (trap 1, 6/4), who should just bang out and make all with a usual fast start, while WANTED (Trap 6) could go OK for champion Mark Wallis in another ECC Timber Midi at 20.49pm.
Finally, in the big race at 21.19pm it’s hard not to lump on CASHEN MAUREEN (trap 5, 8/13), who stays strong and starts well and who smashed up Greenwell Lark last time. She just looks by far the best.
It’s all on Sky Sports. Yeeehaaa!
