Some nice – if largely predictable – winners yesterday as Faugheen and Silviniaco Conti did the business in the feature races and Stellar Notion get everyone rocking after winning the opener at 4/1.
As has become custom, we gave ace jockey Ruby Walsh, pundit Matt Chapman, top mysterious tipster, TurfTalk Tom and not at all mysterious Paddy Power racing trader who works only a few yards from our desk a holler to ask them who’s going to win some of the big races on Saturday December 27.

With Golden Doyen (1.55pm) looking the banker bet for three of the panel there’s enough juice in the prices of the ‘slog in the bog’ otherwise known as the Welsh Grand National to keep everyone happy – particularly Irish punters who suffered a day of carnage with a few of Willie Mullins’ hot-pots turned over at Leopardstown on St Stephen’s Day.
But Saturday is a new day and we hope there’s enough of a guide above to line your e-wallets a little for the start of the new year.
