Ruby Walsh Exclusive: Cash in on Harry at Naas this Sunday

Top Jockey Ruby Walsh gives some insight into this rides at Naas this Sunday.

by Ruby Walsh | January 4, 2015

Naas 1.00 – Novice Chase

It’s a good opportunity for Blood Cotil here but looking back at Sizing Granite beating Lieutenant Colonel in a novice chase in Naas back in November, that’s pretty good form. Albeit it was over two miles but that’s still rock solid form. However he unseated at Punchestown behind Chancol last time out. If Blood Cotil can get back to the form of his Gilgamboa run in Navan that’ll put him bang there. But he is a maiden and he has been frustrating.

Naas 1.30 – Novice Hurdle

Tell Us More is exciting in this race, he shows an awful lot at home and Willie (Mullins) thinks an awful lot of him. His work is very good but you can make the argument that although he’s won two races but he hasn’t beaten very much at all. Of course all a horse can do is win the race he’s put in. You can argue Free Expression’s hurdle form is way stronger, as is his novice hurdle form. McKinley’s is too. I’m riding Killer Crow and reading through it last night he probably hasn’t achieved as much McKinley has either.

McKinley definitely looks to me as though he wants better ground but then I thought Bosman Rule wanted better ground too and he made a fool of me on Saturday.

But there’s no doubt Tell Us More is going to be hard to beat.

Naas 2.00 – Handicap Chase

Sir Harry Cash ran well at Christmas in Limerick in a good handicap chase down there, finishing fourth. I think this is a weaker contest than Christmas and he has a really good chance. Hopefully I can collect on him again.
