Paddy’s all over the live dogs in London tonight (RPGTV SKY CH 212) with three juicy tips.
20:18 – 1st Semi-Final
Henlow Cesarewitch second Vanfrenchie has the 1 box for the first semi-final and will no doubt start favourite.
Can he get to the bend though ahead of Trap 2 Sugar Rush who has plenty of early pace on her card?
The one I like DROOPYS BEAR (Trap 6) who has been described in the office as ‘a monster stayer and surely future marathon star’. He’ll likely be last from the opening bend but come motoring through the field with a late charge.
He gets my vote over the likely favourite Vanfrenchie on a card where we’re going Money Back 2nd to the SP Favourite on all races tonight.
NAP : Trap 6 DROOPYS BEAR
20:34 – 2nd Semi-Final
All the talk will be about Trap 2 Blonde Razor who is likely start at a shade of odds-on.
Champion Trainer Mark Wallis has this dog in the form of his life winning his last three starts over course and distance by an aggregate of more than 15 lengths.
Trap 3 Jaytee Osprey could be the value pick judged on her running style. Like my fancy in the first semi-final she’ll be a mile back before cutting through the field – but will she get there in time?
My selection is Trap 4 FARNEYS COOKIE. One of the Racing Post’s ‘Greyhounds to Follow’ in 2015 – you could see why after finishing behind Airport Captain last week. Another flying start from Kevin Boon’s runner will make him hard to catch this time.
NB: Trap 4 FARNEYS COOKIE
20:50 – 3rd Semi-Final
A tough race to weigh up with Trap 1 Airport Captain and Trap 5 Adageo Bob vying for favouritism.
Much will depend on the fitness of Adageo Bob who badly cramped in Round 1 and only just managed to qualify by the shortest of heads. Trainer Mark Wallis threw a spanner in the works by stating that his charge has cramped a few times previously in trials and this shouldn’t be a concern for punters.
It would be a concern for me and I’m happy to take on the front two in the market with a stab at Trap 2 LONGRANGE DENIS. He caught the eye last week and could prove to be a better than average stayer. He loves the inside and if he gets the luck needed around Romford he could outrun his price.
