Paddy Power’s Sportsbook took a pounding on Tuesday, losing most heavily to Irish customers on multiples.
Irish customer wins were up significantly too against their English counterparts, according to our Sportsbook. We lost on multiples in both currencies (which included our payout on Annie Power) but Paddy Power took a chunky hit too on singles in euro currency.
Our database shows that customers betting in Sterling were much more heavily invested in Vibrato Valtat, Lami Serge, The New One and Jollyallan whilst they were less heavy on Douvan, Un De Sceaux and Hurricane Fly, putting their faith in Ruby Walsh and the home team.
So, while Co Carlow-based trainer Willie Mullins made history on Tuesday by claiming four big races on day one of the festival (with Ruby’s treble costing us a fortune) the Brits look to bounce back on Wednesday with Sprinter Sacre, Sire De Grugy and Parlour Games leading the charge.
