We’ve had a look at the 2015/16 Premier League fixtures, so who will be first to go – Martinez or Rodgers?

by David Lyons | June 17, 2015

Happy Premier League fixtures day!

You know times are tough, quiet and without any transfer activity when Sky Sports News squeeze every last ounce of life out of a story.

But we’ll let it slide this time, as the new fixture list does throw up one or two juicy games. This is it lads. This is finally going to be Liverpool’s year!

Or nah.

Liverpool and Brendan Rodgers have a chance to avenge last season’s 6-1 drubbing against Stoke, as they visit the Britannia on the 8th of August. But we’re offering 100/1 for the same result to happen again. We’re bold.

You might want to bookmark the next Liverpool manager betting page, especially when you see their first seven away fixtures: Stoke, Arsenal, Manchester United, Everton, Tottenham Hotspur, Chelsea and Manchester City. Bottom by November? Jurgen Klopp in December anyone?

After Everton’s very poor 2014/15 season, the pressure will definitely be on Mr Martinez to do well this year. Their first 10 games includes Southampton, City, Spurs, Chelsea, Liverpool, United and Arsenal. Don’t mind Liverpool, but Everton could be bottom by October!

A harsh winter might yet be coming to Merseyside. See what I did there with the current and relevant Game of Thrones reference?

Current champions Chelsea will face Gary Monk’s Swansea on the first day of the new season, while United face a tricky start to the new campaign against Tottenham. But will that be with or without Hurri Kane?

United fans will be happy with the run in though should it come down to it: Aston Villa, West Ham, Leicester, Norwich and Bournemouth at home.

Similarly, should Arsene Wenger‘s men finally challenge for the title, their run in is pretty handy with the only game of note, and potential title decider being Manchester City away on the second last day.

Hurry up August and the start of the new season… Is there anything worse than no football?
