Vine: Frank Mir wins again with this 1st Round KO of Todd Duffee

by Rob Dore | July 16, 2015

What? There are UFC fights happening this week that don’t involve Conor McGregor?

In fact there have been two cards since that simply spectacular UFC 189 card, as the organisation’s International Fight Week continues. On Sunday night we had the finale of the latest series of The Ultimate Fighter, a show which is hoping to tap in to the McGregor magic by having him coach against Uriah Faber in the next season, and last night Frank Mir topped a Fight Night card in San Diego.

A card which wasn’t helped by losing the Gilbert Melendez v Al Iaquinta co-main event, thanks to Melendez popping for some elevated testosterone levels. It still provided a few decent fights and Mir finished a decision heavy main-card with the very quick stoppage of Todd Duffee in their heavyweight stand-up brawl.

Former champ and future Hall-of-Famer Mir now has two wins on the bounce, which is enough to get you back in to title contention conversation in this heavy-weight division, and much like Andrei Arlovksi he finds his career moving up when all signs had been pointing towards a swift decline.
