We’re three days into the Glorious Goodwood Festival and our crack team of tipsters are doing pretty well. The success rate appears to be along the same lines of going to a disco as a teenager and trying to get off with the popular people – it’s hardly a 100 per cent strike rate, but every other race or so they’re sneaking in a winner or at least making the frame. The teenage disco equivalent of getting off with the kid the popular people bully.
So who makes up our crack team of racing experts? We’ve got racing pundit and Twitter-mad Matt Chapman, the boss himself Paddy Power. Irish tipping legend and co-writer of My Lovely Horse Tom Nugent, and a trader from the second floor who refuses to tell us his name and leaves his tips in briefcases in the canteen for us to find.
Thursday’s results were solid, with Turftalk Tom pulling out a lovely winner in Big Orange at 6/1, while the team had a 4/1 place, an 11/8 winner, a 5/1 place, a 9/2 place and a 7/1 place. Not too bad at all. Here’s Friday’s feast.
It’s a mixed bag on Friday with very little consensus among our tipsters. Both Turftalk Tom and the PP mysterious trader fancy The Corsican and Latharnach, but other than that there is about as much harmony between the four as Little Mix.
