WWE Summerslam 2015: Where are punters putting their money?

The highlight of the summer is almost here as WWE rolls into New York City. Who will be victorious at Summerslam? We've looked into Paddy Power's betting book to see where punters are putting their cash...

Summerslam is arguably the WWE’s second biggest event of the year – behind only the grand-daddy of them all, WrestleMania – and with a decent card on the billing there’s plenty of anticipation ahead of Sunday’s showdown in New York. Here at Power Tower we’re getting into the spirit of things by wearing spandex in the office and making sure we carry a ‘Money In The Bank’ briefcase into every meeting we attend.

We’re also keeping a close eye on Paddy Power’s WWE betting book to see which superstars you, the punters, think will come out on top at the Barclays Centre in Brooklyn. Here are three of the closest matches on the card according to our traders, and this is where Paddy Power punters are putting their Summerslam cash.

Brock Lesnar (11/8) v The Undertaker (8/15)

Sunday’s main event sees ‘The One in 21-1’ take on ‘The Deadman’ in one of the most hotly anticipated wrestling bouts of the year. We’ve crunched all the stats you need to know ahead of the main event here, and punters themselves are marginally siding with Brock Lesnar. In the betting book 61 per cent of punters fancy The Beast to come out on top yet again and exact some revenge on the Undertaker for costing him the World Heavyweight Title at Battleground. Lesnar is the 11/8 outsider in the bout, but he hasn’t been pinned in a WWE ring for more than two years.

John Cena (13/8) v Seth Rollins (4/9)

This is another match where the Paddy Power traders aren’t quite sure who will come out on top, and punters are fully behind the underdog. John Cena’s US Title and Seth Rollins’ World Heavyweight Title are on the line as one man aims to be leave New York with both Championship belts. Many believe it is only a matter of time before Cena becomes a 16-time World Heavyweight Champion, and 66 per cent of punters think Summerslam will be where it happens. A third of punters are sticking with Rollins at 4/9, as the former Shield member continues to hold on to his title by hook or by crook.

Bray Wyatt and Luke Harper (6/4) v Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose (1/2)

Bray Wyatt and Luke Harper go into this match as the outsiders against Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose, whose Bromance is apparently stronger than ever. Wyatt cost Reigns a title shot at Money In The Bank and after Harper’s interference at Battleground, the Wyatt Family were officially back in business. A massive 71 per cent of punters fancy the most dysfunctional family in WWE to come out victorious at Summerslam, with former Shield members Reigns and Ambrose picking up just 29 per cent of punter’s cash.
