It’s a huge week in racing with the final Classics of the season in the UK and Ireland and a corking renewal of the Irish Champion Stakes at Leopardstown on Saturday.
I’m going to be all over it and we’re in cracking form recently after Twilight Son was a nice 10-1 winner of the Sprint Cup at Haydock last weekend.
We’re heading to Doncaster for the rest of the week and Thursday starts with an extended 6f Nursery at 1.55pm where I fancy the top-weight NEMORALIA.
Jeremy Noseda’s filly looks better than her 87-rating and bolted up at Kempton last time having been beaten by next year’s possible 1,000 Guineas winner Ballydoyle on her previous start. She could be chucked in.
The Group 3 Sceptre Stakes over 7f at 2.30pm, is a tricky heat but the ultra-consistent DUSKY QUEEN will be hard to keep out the frame. I’m on her each-way.
Richard Fahey’s hope was just touched off by Mistrusting last time, but is a bit better off at the weights and should go close.
It’s the Group 2 Park Hill over an extended 1m 6f at 3.05pm, and I like HIDDEN GOLD, who did little wrong in the Lonsdale Cup at York behind Max Dynamite and had previously run a fine second at Goodwood. The Godolphin hope deserves a big prize.
Should go close
Finally on Thursday I’ve checked out the £300,000 2yo Stakes at 3.40pm, and HUMPHREY BOGART should go close after a decent fourth at York on his last start. He stays well and had scored at Doncaster on his previous start so goes well here. Could be one for the Richard Hannon stable.
This week is a marathon not a sprint. But let’s hope we get off to a good start and make Paddy miserable. You hear me Paddy? Yeeehaaa!
