Chelsea v Arsenal, Saturday 12:45
This is a tough one. Chelsea have had a slow start this season with too many players searching for form and searching for confidence. That being said it’s surprising that the defending champions have had such a slow start to the season.
Arsenal have played quite well since the home loss to West Ham on the opening day of the season. They’ll be disappointed about the result in midweek, but it won’t affect their confidence going into this game. I think there’ll be goals in this one. Whether or not Chelsea are good enough to win this one at the moment is debatable. Their defence is still shaky and even though they won 4-0 in midweek the defence didn’t look comfortable. It’s a good chance for Arsenal to go to Stamford Bridge and get a win, but Jose will be demanding a performance.
I’m looking at a score draw I think a 2-2 is the way to go for this one. Costa scored a great goal in the Champions League and if he starts he’s a great shout for the first goal. For Arsenal I have a feeling Theo Walcott is going to start and if he can use his pace to get round the back he’s the best punt for Arsenal.
Aston Villa v West Brom, Saturday 15:00
These games are normally hard fought. There’s not a lot of goals, not a lot of chances and not a lot given up. West Brom don’t concede many goals since Tony Pulis took over.
Aston Villa will be disappointed about losing a two goal lead to Leicester in the last 18 minutes of the game. It’s going to be tight, but I think home advantage will count for a lot in this game. Villa to win narrowly 1-0 is the result for me. Villa don’t have many goalscorers in the team, but the likes of Scott Sinclair, Rudy Gestede and are the best options for the first goalscorers.
Stoke v Leicester, Saturday 15:00
Stoke have started poorly and Leicester have stared brilliantly which mean a Leicester win right? Wrong. I’m going for Stoke to win this one and kickstart their season.
It’s going to be a tight game and I’m going for a 1-0 win for Stoke in this one. Mame Biram Diouf has two goals so far this season and is the best bet for the only goal of the game.
Man City v West Ham, Saturday 17:30
West Ham have had two great away wins against Arsenal and Liverpool, but going for the hat-trick against is one too many. Sergio Aguero is fit again after coming on in midweek and with him Man City will just be too good.
West Ham are a decent side and they’ll give them a game. They are capable of playing decent football away from home, but City will just be too good. City have scored three goals in a few games this season, but I think West Ham will get the first goal. Dimitri Payet has been in spectacular form since his arrival from Marseille. If you think City will open the scoring look no further than Aguero.
Spurs v Crystal Palace, Sunday 13:30
Spurs need to win. They’ve been very poor at home so far and will be very disappointed to let a two goal lead slip against Stoke. Palace have a fantastic away record and a really set up for counter attacking football. They have great pace in the side. They beat Chelsea so they’ll be thinking why not Spurs as well. But two London derby’s is a big ask. Spurs to win, but only just. If they defend well they should pick up the three points. I’m looking at a 2-1 with Harry Kane to score his first league goal of the season.
Liverpool v Norwich, Sunday 16:00
Brendan Rogers is a man under pressure. If he fails to win his next two games at home to Norwich and Aston Villa he could be in big trouble. They have started poorly and they really need to sort themselves out.
Norwich will have a go at this. If they can keep Anfield quiet for an hour they could snatch it. But I think Liverpool will win the game. I’m going for a 2-0 with Benteke to get the first goal.
Southampton v Man United, Sunday 16:00
I think this is a game they are both going into in not great form. Winning 3-1 against Liverpool will give United confidence, but losing to PSV 2-1 in the Champions League midweek won’t inspire confidence. I think this is a tough one for United. They failed to hold on to a lead against Swansea last time and lost.
Southampton are better then what we’ve seen. Now that they’re out of the Europa League they have the opportunity to settle down and show us more of what they were like last season. I fancy the Saints to get something, but I don’t know if either team is good enough to win. I think there’ll be goals so I’m going for a 2-2 draw.
Memphis Depay scored again in the Champions League, but hasn’t scored in the league yet, but I’m backing him to open the scoring.
