It’s day one of the Open meeting or Paddy Power Gold Cup eve as the marketing types in here would have us call it and there’s a fair bit of consensus knocking about as the jumps season gets going.
That usually means that the tipsters have either had a side bet for bragging rights in the champagne bar or they’re all guessing and there’s safety in numbers.
