Andy Gray: Man City, Liverpool and the Saints can do the business in a 3/1 treble

I think Arsenal can bring up a nice 6/1 shot as well, but try to stay awake for my Chelsea and Man United bet

by Andy Gray | February 5, 2016

It’s getting to the silly stage of the season where a load of fixtures come together at once for the big teams. My treble this week is Man City, Southampton and Liverpool. That should come together with odds of 3/1 .

I didn’t have much luck last week with my anytime goalscorer quartet so this week I’m going for Sergio Aguero, Harry Kane, Romelu Lukaku (who is well due a goal) and Olivier Giroud which comes up at 17/1.

Man City vs Leicester – 12:45 Saturday – BT Sport 1

Manuel Pellegrini

Leicester are big odds, and I’m surprised because their defence is strong. They conceded 20 goals in the first 12 games, and in the 12 following just six.
12 months ago this fixture would’ve been top vs bottom of the table. It shows how much can change. Leicester are going into this game with nothing to lose. Beating Liverpool means this is almost like a ‘free’ game against a tough team that are a bit shaky defensively. But City are in great form themselves and I’m backing them to win.
Andy’s bet: Man City 2-0 Leicester

Liverpool vs Sunderland – 3pm Saturday – Setanta Sports 1

Liverpool are long odds on, but I’m not sure if their mentality is right considering they are still in the three cups. Sunderland are struggling for goals. Liverpool need to put the Leicester result behind them, and even though Big Sam will try and frustrate them, Jurgen Klopp should have enough knowledge to prevent a disaster

Andy’s bet : Liverpool to win to nil

Southampton vs West Ham – 17:30 Satuday – Sky Sports 1

Southampton got a goal less draw against a free scoring Arsenal, but their goalkeeper was man of the match. The Saints are odds on because they’ve reversed their form over the last six games. West Ham are feeling the pinch now after their early burst in the Europa League and Premier League. They looked ordinary against Villa.

Andy’s bet : Southampton -1

Bournemouth vs Arsenal – 13:30 Sunday – Sky Sports 1

Arsenal haven’t scored since that incredible 3-3 draw against Liverpool. What that says to me is that someone is going to get a hiding from them soon. I’d be concerned if I was Wenger, but they’re creating a lot of chances. Bournemouth are unbeaten in their last four, Benik Afobe has done really well. But I’m backing the Gunners

Andy’s bet : Arsenal 1-0 Bournemouth

Chelsea vs Manchester United – 4pm Sunday – Sky Sports 1

Normally this would be a game everyone would look forward to. But this game is almost irrelevant, which sums up how the season has gone for the two clubs. It’s still a big game though. Chelsea at home are usually good. I think it’ll be close, a draw.

Andy’s bet : Diego Costa first goalscorer

Spurs vs Watford

Spurs look relentless. For me, they are the form side in this league, they look like believe they can win the title. Watford did look good midweek against Chelsea, but Spurs are too good right now, and could win this one easily.

Andy’s bet : Spurs 3-1 Watford

Aston Villa vs Norwich

Norwich have conceded 14 goals in the last four games. Somehow they are still outside the relegation zone. Villa are drinking in the last chance saloon. If they don’t win against Norwich, you can serve them their last drink. A loss would mean the gap would be 13 points.

Andy’s bet : Aston Villa 2-1 Norwich

Newcastle vs West Brom

This is an opportunity for Newcastle. They took a pasting in the end against Everton. Tony Pulis is tough to beat though and can kind of  afford to coast their way through the last series of fixtures. They’ll have enough to avoid relegation, but I’m calling this one down the middle

Andy’s bet : Score draw

Swansea vs Crystal Palace

Swansea have found some form recently, but Palace are in absolute freefall. they’ve only got two points since Christmas! They have to find something quick. I’m gonna go against the odds though

Andy’s bet : Palace win

Stoke vs Everton

Mark Hughes (pic: Inpho)

Stoke have only won one of their last five in the league and were knocked out of the two cups recently. They’re suffering a hangover from those exits. Everton are beginning to motor again after beating Newcastle mid week.

Andy’s bet : Everton to win with both teams to score
