Mystic Mullane is tipping the Munster giants to bring up his 3/1 NHL accumulator

New managers aplenty as the Allianz Hurling leagues return for 2016 and we've found Mystic Mullane to give us the low down.

by David Kent | February 13, 2016

It’s one of the most open leagues seasons that I can remember since I stopped playing. There’s always the question mark over how serious the contenders for the Liam McCarthy will take it. We know Kilkenny will probably experiment like they did last year, there’s new managers at four other teams so it’s a tough proving ground for them.

My accumulator for week one is Galway, Tipperary, Limerick and Clare. Throw them into an accumulator and you get odds of just over 3/1

Division 1A

Tipperary vs Dublin – Setanta – 7pm Saturday

Michael Carton with Seamus Callanan 15/2/2015

This is a reverse of last year’s opening fixture in Parnell Park when the Dubs absolutely obliterated Tipperary. Tipp are minus Seamus Callinan for the first two games and he’ll be a big loss as their main threat in front of goal.

Dublin were very impressive in the Walsh Cup, they were playing the style of hurling that Cork used to back in their glory days. Tipp have no match preparation as they didn’t take part in the Munster League pre-season but have been training very hard since September. i think they’ll have too much for Dublin. Look at PatrickBonner’ Maher to score the first goal.

Galway vs Cork – Sunday 2pm

Jonathan Glynn celebrates scoring the first goal 26/7/2015

There is an awful lot of pressure on Galway after what happened with their managerial situation over the winter. They’ll be very keen to hit the ground running in order to impress, and their record against Cork is quite good over the last few years. This is the game which will be closest to a draw for me, but I’m expecting Galway to just have enough and hand Kieran Kingston a loss in his league managerial debut.

Kilkenny vs Waterford – TG4 – Sunday 2pm

The talk coming out of Waterford is that they are going to put out a very strong team for this opener in Walsh Park. They’re missing the All-Star Tadgh De Burca but apart from that it’ll be full strength. Kilkenny are weakened without Ger Awylward and Eoin Larkin and it’ll be interesting to see what kind of team they put out. They struggled in the league last year, and are only back training for a couple of weeks. I’m tipping a Deise win.

Division 1B

Clare vs Offaly – Sunday 2pm

This is a chance for Clare’s players to make a statement to Davy Fitz and Donal Óg and get into that starting 15 for Championship. It’s a hugely talented panel down in Ennis. Offaly are racked with injuries so take on the 9 point handicap for the Banner.

Limerick vs Wexford – Setanta 2 – 7pm Saturday

Tom Morrissey tackles Liam Ryan 12/9/2015

From listening to some of the Limerick staff they’ve been back training since November as well, and they will be raring to go for this one. Wexford are never an easy game though, and there’s always a chance they could pull out a result. But I think the fact they’re away will not help them. Back the Shannonsiders

Mystic Mullane says: Limerick to win at

Laois vs Kerry – Sunday 2pm

This is a new ground for Kerry, it’s a massive jump up from 2A to 1B, unlike the football. I don’t think they’ll have enough quality in them to reach within six points of Laois so again, look at the handicap

Mystic Mullane says : Laois -6 at
