Fill up on Belgian chocolates with the help of our 22/1 Sunday evening European football accumulator

Know nothing about European football? Don't worry, neither do Everton fans, so fill yourself in with the help of our Sunday evening accumulator

by David Kent | February 20, 2016

And on the seventh day, the betting God took rest and threw a fiver on something he knew not much about. Similarly, a lot of punters aren’t up to date with the Belgian or Portuguese leagues.

Which is where Paddy Power is here to help. We’ve done our research and picked out a nice 22/1 accumulator to brighten up your dull and dreary Sunday evening with the in-laws.

Beveren vs Anderlecht – 5pm – Pro League

Now admittedly, if you ask one of the Paddy Power Blog team for facts about Belgium we aren’t very good. We know that there’s chocolate, waffles and Kim Huybrechts. But also that Anderlecht are kings of football in Tintin land.

Not quite the case this season however, they’re third, seven points off top with a game in hand. That game in hand comes on Sunday against Beveren, who are struggling for survival, with just one win in their last eight. They were torn apart 6-1 by Genk last weekend, whereas Anderlecht have just one defeat in their last twelve matches. Back the Purple and White -1  at

Braga vs Guimares – 8:30pm – Primeira Liga

Braga fans 18/5/2011

4th against 5th in Portugal. On paper this’ll attract a few bets, but then you realise that there’s ten points between them. Braga will still have hopes of reeling in Porto in 3rd and sneaking into the Champions League spots, while Guimares will be trying to hold off Pacos, Arouca and Rio Ave to enter the Europa League and get revenge for their 6-2 exit from the competition this year.

Both sides love to score, but the Vitoria defence is far too shaky for my liking. 10 points seperate them, but the gap in goal difference is 27 in favour of Braga, mainly down to the rearguard of Guimares. They’re unbeaten in seven, but Braga have only lost once in eight, and have won four of the last five. Back them to win and both teams to score at

Schalke 04 vs Stuttgart – 4:30 – Bundesliga

Schalke have ever so slightly fallen from grace this season. They’ve been a German constant in the Champions League group stages over the last couple of years, but they had to settle with a Europa League place last year. They topped their group, and drew 0-0 in Ukraine on Thursday. Their form in the Bundesliga is inconsistent though.

So what they don’t need is a visit from a team that’s won five on the trot. Stuttgart can’t be completely ruled out of European qualification yet, sitting eight points off at time of writing. Almost three quarters of their games so far have had over 2.5 goals, and Schalke have scored in all but two of their home games. Back over 2.5 goals at

Roma vs Palermo – 7:45 – Serie A

Dzeko

Only Juventus and Real Madrid have been able to stop Roma since November, and they’ve only been turned over on their own patch once (by Atalanta in a shock 2-0 defeat). Pjanic, Dzeko and Gervinho have been their main weapons to take down teams, and it was the Ivorian who got a brace against their opponents on Sunday back in October.

Palermo are in danger of being dragged into the scrap down the bottom of Serie A. Their next few fixtures see them play three of the current top five, including a trip to San Siro after this game. Only two sides have conceded more than them, and with Roma looking to bounce back from Madrid, take the handicap of Roma -1 at
